Who we are

The Fliedner Klinik Gevelsberg is an ambulant and outpatient clinic for psychological medicine located in the heart of Gevelsberg. We offer 30 partly inpatient treatment places for patients from 18 years of age. In the rebuilt former Gevelsberger Krankenhaus, we treat individuals with psychological and psychosomatic disorders such as
- depression
- anxieties
- stress syndromes
- personality disorders
- psychotic disorders
- disturbances of memory.
A main focus lies in the treatment of older people, since especially this group can face problems where people need specific help.
The friendly premises are found in a part of the old Gevelsberg Krankenhaus that was elaborately and totally renovated by the Theodor Fliedner Stiftung.
As a foundation, the Theodor Fliedner Stiftung is the sponsoring institution of the Fliedner Klinik Gevelsberg.
The foundation with seat in Mülheim an der Ruhr was established in 1844 and is engaged nation-wide in 26 facilities with more than 1800 employees for the benefit of the old, the handicapped and the psychologically ill. Through the Institut für interdisziplinäre und angewandte Diakoniewissenschaft (Institute for Interdisciplinary and Applied Social Welfare Studies) at Bonn University, the foundation has intimately connection to current scholarship in all related fields, so that the newest academic developments can be applied in practice.
